Stretchers & Canvases
We can supply Stretchers in many sections and thicknesses with a sharp or rounded face edge and to the sizes you require. Because we make all our stretcher section in house, we can cut the lengths that you need - be it "inches" or in "cm" we don’t mind whatever you prefer working in. The largest we have made to date was 15ft long and the smallest was 4 inches square. We make bespoke shaped stretchers & canvases, check out the gallery page to see some of the Trevor Bell shaped canvases we made with him.
We can supply just the stretcher, or the readymade canvas primed or un-primed and will happily make stretchers & stretch your own canvas /linen for you.
We offer discount on large orders & have a delivery/collection service every Friday in the Cornwall area.

Stretching Service
We use a 12oz Cotton Duck canvas on our readymade canvases which we can supply primed or un-primed. We are happy to re-stretch (& prime if required) any old stretchers you have.
We keep 108" wide 12oz cotton duck (un-primed) in stock. This is available to buy by the metre or we can order in full rolls.
We also offer a stretching service for new or old paintings or giclee prints you have that need stretching. Maybe you have old paintings on twisted or warped stretchers that need re-doing, then give us a call.
We generally do this at the workshop but are happy to come to your studio if you have a large canvas that needs re-stretching or one that is awkward to transport.
Bespoke Frames
We make simple rebate and tray frames as standard in many variations with the option to vary the depth, face & profile to your specification.
Frames can be supplied fully fitted with work ready to hang or supplied to you for fitting with the option to paint or stain as required.
All our frame section is machined and manufactured by us in house so we can tailor to your specification and make very bespoke frames to your requirements.
We tend to keep Pine, Tulipwood and Ash in stock for making our frame section.
Other timber is available to order.
We can offer a window or float mount option for framing prints or work on paper behind glass.
2mm clear float glass is kept in stock which we can cut to size for you.
Non-reflective glass is available to order, please ask for details.
Bespoke Projects
Over the years we have worked closely with many Artists helping to make their visions a reality.
From large and odd shaped canvases to small intricate display boxes, sculpture bases, stands and gallery plinths.
We like a challenge, and enjoy the interaction with you the artist helping to create and inspire, if you have an idea, but need some help making it a reality give us a call .
Studio Furniture
Getting organised in the studio can make your life as an artist so much easier.
Here at TP Timber Stretchers we have helped many artists to do this.
We have constructed tailor made solutions for people building desks, plan chests, storage racks, shelving units, work stations, rolling walls and even a ladder for a client with high storage.
We can help you design & construct a solution specific to your needs.

Packing Crates
Need to transport your valuable work, but are worried about how its treated when it leaves you? You need a packing crate. We can help you protect it. We have made packing/transport cases and crates for artwork which has travelled all over the world.
We are happy to make small one-off boxes to large crates for multiple items. Please ring for more info and pricing.
Made in house
All our sections and mouldings are pretty much made by us in house, so we are not limited by what’s available.
If you have an idea or a vision of how you want something to look we will try our best to make it a reality for you, from odd shaped canvases, one off installations, bespoke frames, studio furniture and gallery plinths.
